How to revert to Old Twitter?

#NewTwitter is the talk of the town! And I just got the opportunity to try it out today. It looks cool and intelligent. However, as usual some of us may find it difficult to use the new twitter user interface initially. Some of us may not like it.

The other day, a twitter friend of mine was trying hard to figure out how to revert to the old twitter interface as he did not like the #newTwitter interface much. He tweeted me asking how he can possibly revert to old twitter! I could not help him as I was not yet allowed into #newTwitter back then. Result? Poor guy had to delete his Twitter Handle and go for a new one!

The first thing I did as soon as I was allowed to try the #newTwitter was to see if there is a way I can go back and use the old Twitter UI! Bingo, there is an option!

Twitter has included a very simple link to enable you to revert to old Twitter. All you got to do is to  click on your name on the navigation bar that appears top right and choose "Leave Preview". Presto! You will be taken back to the old Twitter.

Update: You cannot revert to Old Twitter anymore!

  8. We cannot do that, because that option is nolonger now. They want us to use new-version.

  10. Hey this does not stop the even newer version which is more complicated than these other new versions.. No more 100+ tweets its now 50+.. The problem with twitter is that its trying so hard to stop spammers and people selling tweets and accounts, that it forgets that normal users are effected by these changes.. I for one have no idea how many rt's I get now... before twitter changed I could see the exact amount of automatic retweets, and I mean above 100+, it would say like 309, 564 etc as everyone of my tweets goes 100+ I have no idea which one goes better than another.. With 50+ just brought in this makes it even harder.. You have to click 3 or 4 times to find something you would of found on old twitter with 1 click. Even the searches are not up to date, most only have a small portion of what is being said on any subject at any one time.. Twitter is going backwards not forwards... Remember people use twitter for different things.. The guys with big accounts still like to know how they are doing just as much as the little guys...
